News! Race categories have been rearranged and subdivided.

 

Race categories have been rearranged and subdivide as the number of participants has been increasing.Previous "Citizens' Road Race 50km" and "Senior Road Race 50km" have been rearranged for 2011 event.

Under the uniform name of "Citizens' 50km Road Race for Men," this category has been subdivided into new four categories:

  • Citizen 50km Road Race for Men Under 29 (16-29 y/o)
  • Citizen 50km Road Race for Men in 30s (30-39 y/o)
  • Citizen 50km Road Race for Men in 40s (40-49 y/o)
  • Citizen 50km Road Race for Men Over 50 (50 y/o or older)

As those new categories have been established, we will have a new champion in each of those categories.

 

Citizen Road Race 210km

Citizen Road Race 210km

One of the "ultimate" races that serious amature riders in Japan aspire after. Top-notch citizen road-racers gather together in the northern Okinawa; this much demanding competition develops in the nature-rich Yanbau region over the course extending as long as 210km.

Citizen Road Race 140km

Citizen Road Race 140km

Like 210km Citizens' Road Race, this category also features two hill climbs. Each racer's physical strength and race experience will be tested in this shorter yet nontheless tough, full-scale course.

Citizen Road Race 100km

Citizen Road Race 100km

Okinawa Island's northernmost point, Hedo, was designated in 2007 as the start line for this 100km race. This middle-distance course attracts cyclists with willful mind for boosting their power and skill, developing fast-pace competition from the early stage of the race.

Citizen Road Race 40km

Citizen Road Race 40km

As the riders start at Taira (Higashi Village), they experience this 40km category as tougher than 50km becuase of its series of ups and downs, making it an ideal race for those who want to upgrade their racing skill after exerienceing 50km courses.

Participants of this category will enjoy riding along a rather flat road in the first half of the course; The beautiful coasts of Northern Okinawa will delight the eyes of experienced and novice riders alike.Those are the four new 50km race categories rearranged and subdivided from the previous 50km road races.

A new 50km road race category for riders under 29 years old or younger.

Citizen Road Race 50km for Women

With a purpose to facilitate the spread of road races among women, this category features the same distance as the men's 50km categories. We have been observing the number of femal participants increase every year.

Male Junior High-School Students 50km

Junior Highschool Road Race 50km

One of the few bicycle road races for junior high school students in Japan. The young hopefuls come from all over Japan to compete for the race. Many adult riders who actively participate in international road races in and outside the country today once were the participants of this category.

School Kids' Road Race 10km

School Kids' Road Race 10km

Criterium in Nago City's down town for 5th & 6th grade kids (male/female). The children's heated competition attracts cheers from spectators along the course.
